Episode 137:
Doyle Bramhall II's artistry is no surprise, given his roots. He is Texas music royalty, as the son of Austin drummer and friend/co-writer of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Doyle Bramhall. Doyle II has blazed a path of his own, honing his songwriting skills and vocal ability, to match his superb and unique guitar playing style. Doyle is a rare breed, playing left handed with the strings upside down (strung RH). His third studio album, Welcome, was produced by long-time Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboardist, Benmont Tench, and released in 2001. "Green Light Girl" is a fast paced, Hendrix-style Rock song featuring Doyle's fuzz laced Stratocaster.
OTW is engineered and mixed by Richard Williams @ Plum Tree Recording Studio.
One Take Weekly aims to present a sneak peek inside a studio recording session, each track performed and filmed in one take - imperfections & all. No overdubs, NO AUTOTUNE, and no trick-photography! (Just good mixing...& my nearly inept video editing skills) What you see is what you hear - CE.
