Description
The Mercer Island High School Jazz Ensemble, performing the Clayton-Hamilton Big Band's arrangement of Horace Silver's "The Jody Grind" with Wycliffe Gordon.
Soloists were Daniel Rowe (senior, trumpet), Wycliffe Gordon, Alex Ihle (junior, trombone) Annalise King (junior, trombone), and Ward Wilson (senior, drums)..
We did this as a special joint event with the Bothell Jazz Ensemble, and it was nothing less than mind-blowing. I'm pretty sure every jaw in the building hit the floor when he pulled out that soprano trombone.
