Description
I wrote these pieces for Shrine of the Ages, my choir at NAU.
English Translation:
I
Whistling from tree to tree
flees the morning breeze.
Astonished is
the skyblue forest
.
Birdsong
rises up
from their beds.
Rain
sparkles friendly
after trip
.
So is life still good
to behold.
Sun glows
In a drop (of) resin.
II
Oil spills run towards rocks and reefs.
Hills are full of small toxic berries.
Crane flocks thin and eagles flee.
Forests are frosted with pesticide.
Sleep you, my little one. Night is near.
Soon we'll have angels in gas masks here.
III
Now is the night over Earth.
Trembling stars, shine!
Worlds wander so far.
Darkness is without limit.
Ground and earth and darkness,
why do I love them?
Stars wander so far.
Earth is man's home.
